Question 1

What can I do in the NextStep AI workspace?

Accepted Answer

The signed-in workspace currently includes a resume builder for a target role, editable cover-letter drafts, interview practice for a saved role, and an application tracker. Some AI-assisted steps depend on the AI service being available.

Question 2

How do I create and edit a resume for a target role?

Accepted Answer

Start by adding at least one work-history entry and your target-job details. After you review and mark the intake complete, you can generate one resume draft. The target role helps prioritize your saved sections. Edit the section headings and text in the draft, save your changes, and review every line before using it.

Question 3

How do cover-letter drafts work?

Accepted Answer

A completed intake, saved work history, and a usable saved resume are needed first. Enter the role, company, and job details for the letter. When the AI service is available, it selects relevant details you have saved; NextStep AI assembles those details into a starting draft. You can edit and save the letter, then check each fact and make the wording your own.

Question 4

What happens in interview practice?

Accepted Answer

Interview practice needs a completed target-role intake with job details. It creates a question from that saved role description and provides a fill-in Situation, Task, Action, Result (STAR) template. Write and save your own answer; then you can request AI feedback that checks which STAR details are stated in your answer. Review feedback as a prompt for revision and include only details you can support.

Question 5

How can I keep application details and next steps organized?

Accepted Answer

Add the employer, role, application date, and current status, such as Applied or Interviewing. You can edit the details and add an optional follow-up date to keep a next step visible. That date is recorded in the tracker; it is not an automatic reminder. You can also filter your list and archive or restore applications.

Question 6

What does AI assist with?

Accepted Answer

AI can help prioritize saved resume details for a target role, suggest a clearer version of one selected resume bullet, choose relevant saved details for a cover-letter draft, and review your interview answer against STAR. A resume rewrite remains a suggestion until you accept it, and your drafts stay editable. Check names, dates, qualifications, and wording yourself before using any draft.

Question 7

Can NextStep AI promise an interview or job offer?

Accepted Answer

No. These tools help you prepare and organize application materials; they cannot promise an interview, an offer, or another hiring result. Treat each suggestion as a starting point and share only information that is accurate for you.
